Pagasa forecasts rain and hot weather for Maundy Thursday

Metro Manila and most parts of the Philippines will experience fine weather with some rains due to easterly winds on Maundy Thursday, according to Pagasa.

Weather specialist Daniel James Villamil noted that scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in eastern sections of the country, particularly over Cagayan Valley and Aurora province.

Pagasa advised residents to be cautious against possible flash floods and landslides during thunderstorms and recommended staying hydrated due to sweltering temperatures across many areas.

Light to moderate winds will blow over the country while coastal waters remain from slight to moderate, with most parts of the Philippines experiencing hot weather conditions.

On March 23, Pagasa officially declared the start of the summer season.
