Philippines to continue RoRe missions in WPS despite Chinese harassment

The Philippines will continue its regular rotation and resupply missions in the West Philippine Sea despite ongoing harassment from Chinese vessels.

National Security Council Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya stated that the country would uphold the 2016 Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling, which granted the Philippines sovereignty over parts of the South China Sea.

Malaya emphasized that Filipino personnel will continue to supply their people and protect fisherfolk in these waters, regardless of Chinese aggression. On Sunday, a Philippine Navy transport vessel was tailed by a Chinese naval ship while en route to Rizal Reef for a routine resupply mission.
