Philippines reports 359 new COVID-19 cases, total nears 19,000

As of Tuesday, June 2, the Philippines reported a total of 18,997 confirmed coronavirus cases with 359 new cases, including 176 fresh and 183 late cases.

The death toll increased to 966 after six more fatalities were recorded, while recoveries reached 4,063 following the recovery of 84 patients.

Among the new cases, 33 were from Metro Manila, 89 from Region VII, and the rest spread across various regions. Late cases included 39 from Metro Manila, 25 repatriates, eight from Region VII, and others nationwide.

Active cases stood at 13,699 with most being mild (12,826), followed by asymptomatic (795), severe (59), and critical (19) cases.
