DOH denies hiding COVID-19 count, confirms four new cases

The Department of Health (DOH) denied accusations that it is hiding the real figures on coronavirus disease cases.

On Sunday, DOH confirmed four new cases, bringing the total to ten. The latest patients include a Taiwanese male with contact history in Taiwan, a Filipino who traveled to Japan, an American who visited South Korea and the US, and another Filipino with possible contact with a positive case.

DOH has deployed additional teams for contact tracing and is investigating all cases while urging the public to practice preventive measures.

As of March 7, DOH had probed 692 patients, with six confirmed cases including one local transmission and two recoveries. President Duterte agreed to declare a State of Public Health Emergency due to local transmission.
