Philippines plans third dose of COVID-19 vaccine by Nov

The Philippine government is planning to begin administering a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine for healthcare workers and vulnerable groups by November or early December.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. reported this during a taped Talk to the People with President Rodrigo Duterte, citing WHO's inclination towards vaccination for third dosing due to waning immunity.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire clarified that the current plan is for third doses and not boosters, prioritizing individuals from the immunocompromised group or A3 sector.
