Philippines forms panel to study entry of foreigners amid pandemic

The Philippine government has formed a panel to study the possible entry of more foreigners amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sub-technical working group, headed by the Department of Tourism with other agencies as members, will address the management of foreign nationals entering for specific purposes.

Some countries have appealed to the Philippines to ease inbound travel restrictions, particularly for foreign workers in flagship infrastructure projects and permanent resident visa holders.
