Philippines logs 576 new COVID-19 cases, active tally hits record high

The Philippines logged 576 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the active case tally to 7,192, the highest since late April.

From June 20 to June 26, the DOH recorded a 53% increase in weekly cases with 4,634 new infections, compared to 3,051 from June 13 to June 19.

The number of severe and critical patients admitted to hospitals due to COVID-19 is at 591 as of Sunday, while ICU bed utilization was at 14.9% and non-ICU beds were used at 18.1%.

On Saturday, the DOH recorded 777 new cases, the highest single-day tally since March, bringing the active case count to 6,425.
