Philippines gets over 1M Pfizer doses, more Moderna from Germany

The Philippines received over 1 million Pfizer vaccine doses on Sunday as part of donations from Germany through the COVAX global facility.

German Embassy Economic Counselor George Maue emphasized the importance of vaccination in combating COVID-19 and praised the Philippines' progress.

An additional 535,300 Moderna vaccine doses donated by Germany are expected to arrive later Sunday evening.

France has also donated nearly 3.5 million doses of various vaccines through COVAX, with an additional 811,890 Pfizer doses arriving from France on Saturday night.

NTF special adviser Ted Herbosa thanked both governments and noted delays in vaccine distribution due to Typhoon Odette's impact.
