Philippines gets 961K Moderna doses

The Philippines received 961,000 Moderna COVID-19 vaccine doses on Saturday at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Of these, 712,800 were procured by the government and 248,200 by ICTSI from the US.

NTF special adviser Dr. Ted Herbosa said vaccines would be distributed to regions outside NCR, with major portions going to Regions III and IV-A, as well as Visayas, Cebu, and Mindanao.

The country also expects almost 200,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine soon.

As of September 15, over 40 million doses have been administered nationwide with more than 34 million vaccines expected to arrive this month, primarily from US manufacturers Pfizer and Moderna.
