Philippines dengue cases up 118% to 92K

The Philippines recorded 92,343 dengue cases from January to July 23, 2022, marking a 118% increase compared to the same period in 2021.

DOH reported that Central Luzon had the highest number of cases with 15,951 (17%), followed by Western Visayas with 9,429 (10%) and NCR with 7,962 (9%).

From June 26 to July 23 alone, there were 21,566 cases, with Central Luzon accounting for 24% of the total.

Nine out of 17 regions exceeded the epidemic threshold in the past four weeks, with Mimaropa and NCR showing a sustained increasing trend.
