Philippines bans travelers from Malaysia, Thailand over Delta variant

President Duterte has imposed a travel ban on inbound travelers from Malaysia and Thailand due to concerns over the highly transmissible Delta variant.

The ban will be effective from July 25 until July 31, according to presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

Travelers with a history of being in these countries within the last 14 days are also barred from entry.

However, overseas Filipino workers on repatriation flights and those already in transit before July 25 will be allowed entry but must undergo quarantine.
