Philippines again 'high risk' for COVID-19

Philippines is again classified as 'high risk' for COVID-19 due to increasing case numbers.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reported a two-week growth rate of 222% and an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 1.07 per 1,000 individuals.

The ADAR indicates the number of new cases over a two-week period divided by the population, with less than one indicating low risk.

This is the first time since August to October last year that the Philippines has been placed under high-risk classification due to the Delta variant spike.
