Groseclose advances in three events at Asian Winter Games

Short track speed skater Peter Groseclose had a successful but ultimately limited run at the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, advancing to multiple rounds across three events.

Groseclose qualified for the semifinals of the men's 1500m race by finishing fourth with a time of 2:19.318 on Friday but missed out on reaching the finals after clocking 2:32.668 in his semifinal group, placing sixth.

In the men's 500m event, Groseclose secured second place in his heat on Saturday morning but fell short of advancing to the next round as he placed third behind Lin Xiaojun and Abzal Azhgaliyev with a time of 42.331 seconds.

On Sunday, Groseclose competed in the quarterfinals of the men's 1000m race where he finished third with a time of 1:28.045 while Adil Galiakhmetov and Liu Shaoang advanced to the semis.

The Philippine athlete will also carry the national flag during the opening ceremony alongside curler Kathleen Dubberstein later that evening.
