Marcos prays for recovering Pope Francis

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. expressed solidarity with the world in praying for Pope Francis's recovery and wellness on Monday.

Marcos urged divine guidance for the 88-year-old pontiff to continue his mission of faith and love for humanity, expressing sadness over Pope Francis's critical condition.

According to the latest update from Vatican News, Pope Francis remains hospitalized after being admitted with pneumonia in both lungs since February 14.

The pope has shown an 'initial, slight insufficiency' in kidney function and required a transfusion of two units of blood following a prolonged respiratory crisis.

Despite this, Pope Francis's blood values are improving thanks to the transfusions, though his condition remains guarded according to medical updates.

Marcos met the Pope at least twice before becoming president—first in July 2014 in Rome and again in January 2015 when the pontiff visited the Philippines under President Aquino III.
