Abellana's US divorce recognized by Philippine court

Carla Abellana confirmed on June 28 that her divorce decree obtained by Tom Rodriguez in the United States is now recognized by a Philippine court.

Rodriguez, an American citizen, finalized their divorce in June 2022 after separating from Abellana earlier that year and flew to the US for the proceedings.

Abellana stated she has not communicated with Rodriguez since and prefers to avoid interaction if they were to meet again, although she noted that she is no longer angry at him and has forgiven him.

The actress emphasized her happiness and recovery by surrendering everything to God, making her stronger and wiser despite the failed marriage.

When asked about opening her heart to another relationship, Abellana said it is not a priority for her at this moment but added that she's open to whatever comes along.

Carla further shared in 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda' on June 28 that she harbors no hatred towards Tom and believes life is too short to hold onto anger.
