Carla Abellana advocates for divorce legalization

Kapuso actress Carla Abellana continues to advocate for the legalization of divorce in the Philippines, citing its benefits for those trapped in toxic and abusive marriages.

Abellana, a Catholic who acknowledges reality, emphasized that many marriages are unhealthy and toxic, especially for families with children, and urged lawmakers to consider public opinion on this issue.

She stated during an interview with 24 Oras that despite her own experience of divorce from Tom Rodriguez in the United States, she remains hopeful for legislative progress.

Abellana also noted that there are married couples who stay together only because they have 'no option,' despite their marriage already being unhealthy.

The actress affirmed that prioritizing family safety and well-being is crucial and encouraged Filipino citizens to voice their opinions on this matter.

She is set to star in the upcoming murder-mystery series 'Widow's War' alongside Bea Alonzo.
