Philippine athletes compete: Delgaco advances, Watanabe loses, Sanchez breaks record, Petecio wins

Team Philippines is competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, with several athletes scheduled to compete on Tuesday, July 30.

Joanie Delgaco started her campaign in the women's single sculls quarterfinals of rowing but finished sixth and last, advancing to semifinals C/D.

Kiyomi Watanabe faced China's Tang Jing in judo and was defeated early, while Kayla Sanchez advanced to the semifinals of swimming after breaking her previous Philippine record in the 100-meter freestyle heats.

Nesthy Petecio won her boxing match against India's Jaismine Lamboria via unanimous decision and will face France's Amina Zidani next.
