Galvez: LGUs, private sector soon to buy jabs directly

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. announced that the government will soon allow local government units and the private sector to purchase their own COVID-19 vaccines directly without entering into multi-party contracts.

Galvez stated this change in procurement strategy could be due to the introduction of reformulated boosters and fill authorization from Pfizer and other brands.

The national task force against COVID-19 chief implementer emphasized that the government will not sign multi-party agreements with dubious third-party consolidators, prioritizing prudent judgment on securing contracts.
