PH to donate expiring COVID-19 jabs to Myanmar, African nations

The Philippine government plans to donate excess COVID-19 vaccines nearing expiration to Myanmar and African countries with low vaccination coverage.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III confirmed the plan during a televised briefing, noting that AstraZeneca has approved extending the shelf life of its vaccine doses.

Cabotaje from the Department of Health said they are working with the Department of Foreign Affairs to identify recipient countries and have requested manufacturers to extend the vaccines' shelf life.
