PH logs 109 new COVID cases on May 11

The Philippines recorded 109 new Covid-19 cases on May 11, bringing the total tally to 3,687,428.

OCTA Research Group fellow Dr. Guido David noted that this figure is lower but close to their forecast of 120 cases.

There were no new deaths recorded and about 418 recoveries were added.

Dr. Rontgene Solante from the Vaccine Experts Panel warned of an expected uptick in cases a week or two after the national election due to super spreader events prior to election day where public health standards were violated.

From May 2-8, the country's daily average of new cases dropped to 161, marking a 20% decrease from the previous week.

As of May 11, approximately 76.04% of the target population are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with over 68 million individuals having received their full doses.
