PH traces 200 Filipinos who attended Malaysian Muslim gathering

More than 200 Filipinos who attended a Muslim gathering in Malaysia in February are now subject to contact tracing upon their return to the Philippines.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that coordination has been initiated with officials in Mindanao for conducting contact tracing.

A Lanao Del Sur resident who attended the event tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized in Cotabato City.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos issued an urgent plea on Facebook, urging Filipino attendees to report themselves and cooperate with health authorities for self-quarantine and contact tracing.
