PH detects 63 more Omicron subvariant cases

The Philippines has detected 63 additional cases of three Omicron subvariants: 50 BA.5, 11 BA.2.12.1, and two BA.4.

Of the total BA.5 cases, 38 were from Western Visayas, five from the National Capital Region, and seven were returning overseas Filipinos.

One individual is fully vaccinated, one is unvaccinated, while the vaccination statuses of the remaining 48 are still being verified.

The Department of Health (DOH) is also verifying the travel history of each case. One case presented mild symptoms, and the status of the other 49 cases is still under verification.
