PH detects 225 more Omicron subvariant cases

The Philippines has detected an additional 225 cases of Omicron subvariants BA.5, BA.4, and BA.2.12.1.

Of these, 190 are BA.5 cases, bringing the total to 4,203.

Most of the new BA.5 cases (162) were from Davao Region, followed by Soccsksargen with 23 cases and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region with three cases; one case each was reported in Caraga and NCR.

Out of the total cases, 149 individuals are fully vaccinated, four partially vaccinated, while the vaccination status of 37 is still being verified.

The DOH is also verifying the exposure and travel history of infected persons.
