PH daily COVID-19 cases continue to drop

The number of new daily COVID-19 cases in the Philippines continues to decline, with an average of 224 cases for the week ending April 18, a decrease from the previous week's average of 271.

As of April 17, there were 18,672 active asymptomatic or mild cases and 1,251 severe and critical cases.

The positivity rate remains at 1.6%, with ICU utilization at 16% and healthcare bed utilization at 17%. For the week ending April 10, the DOH reported an average of 239 daily cases, a 12% decrease from the previous week.

There were only 200 verified deaths recorded in the past week.
