PH reports 1,046 new coronavirus cases, total breaches 16k

The Philippines reported a total of 16,634 confirmed coronavirus cases as of Friday, May 29.

Of the new cases announced on that day, 46 were fresh cases while 1,000 were late cases verified by the DOH Bureau of Epidemiology.

Late cases refer to test results released more than four days prior but only recently verified by the DOH.

The country also recorded 21 additional deaths and 122 recoveries on Friday.

As of May 29, there are 11,069 active cases with varying severities, including asymptomatic, mild, severe, and critical conditions.
