112 golfers compete for 30 spots at Qualifying School

A grueling four-day Qualifying School competition begins Tuesday, February 18, at Splendido Taal Golf Club in Laurel, Batangas, with 112 players vying for spots on the Philippine Golf Tour.

Local contenders including Carl Corpus and Jacob Rolida face off against a strong foreign contingent led by Japanese player Toru Nakajima.

The competition tests players' skills across various aspects of golf, such as shotmaking, putting, and mental toughness, with only the top 30 securing spots for the upcoming season.

Rising Filipino talents like John Michael Uy and Jonas Magcalayo join veterans in the challenge, while seasoned international players add to the intensity.

The Philippine Golf Tour, sponsored by ICTSI and backed by Kampfortis Golf, kicks off on February 23 with the Pradera Verde Championship in Lubao, Pampanga.
