Jaehyun Jung leads PGT Qualifying School

Korean Jaehyun Jung maintained his lead in the Philippine Golf Tour Qualifying School on Friday, February 21, securing the low medal honors despite a challenging final round at Splendido Taal Golf Club.

Jung finished with a total score of three-under-par 285, edging out Carl Corpus by a single stroke after opening with back-to-back bogeys and steadying himself with crucial birdies on the back nine.

Carl Corpus, who initially erased Jung's five-stroke lead with early birdies, faltered with a double bogey and finished at four-under-par 286 after a final round of 70.

Japan's Yuto Hayaski and Atsushi Ueda secured third and fourth places respectively with totals of 292 and 293, while Christopher delos Santos placed fifth with a score of 295.

A total of 31 players qualified for the PGT Tour cards, including Orland Sumcad, Myung Chal Hwang, Taewon Ha, and amateur Paolo Wong. The new season kicks off on Monday at Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club in Lubao, Pampanga.
