FDA: PH vaccines may be commercially available by early 2022

The FDA chief Eric Domingo stated that COVID-19 vaccines may become commercially available in the Philippines by early 2022 following Pfizer's full approval in the US.

However, Pfizer must submit an application for a certificate of product registration or market authorization to the Philippine FDA before it can be fully approved.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque expressed confidence that the Philippine FDA will expedite its approval process to make Pfizer commercially available soon.

Domingo noted that while there has been no word yet from Pfizer on seeking full approval, the requirements and process for COVID-19 vaccine registration have already been sent to them.
