Petro Gazz beats Chery Tiggo 5-set thriller

Petro Gazz secured a comeback victory over Chery Tiggo with a score of 20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-15, and 15-7 in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday night at PhilSports Arena.

Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Myla Pablo led Petro Gazz with 18 points each, contributing to their fifth consecutive win and a record of 6-1.

Coach Koji Tsuzurabara praised the team's improved communication in the latter sets, noting the pivotal role played by middle blockers Joy Dacoron and Ranya Musa, while Brooke Van Sickle added 10 points including crucial markers in the decisive fifth set despite playing off the bench for most of the match.

Van Sickle emphasized that the team's success didn't rely solely on her performance, highlighting the contributions from all teammates who stepped up during the challenging game.

Chery Tiggo now has a record of 4-3 after the loss.
