PDEA seizes PHP13M worth of drugs in Pasay

Authorities in Pasay City intercepted abandoned parcels containing high-grade marijuana and ecstasy with an estimated street value of almost PHP13 million.

Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said that 21 parcels were seized during a joint operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center on Thursday, December 5.

The seizure included 7.79 kg of kush valued at PHP10.9 million and 1,229 ecstasy tablets worth PHP2.08 million.

PDEA spokesperson Dir. Lawin Gabales noted in a radio interview that the agency has intercepted marijuana parcels across six operations over the last four days with a total value of P14,157,800.

Gabales added that the agency is coordinating with the US Drug Enforcement Administration and expects to file cases against 11 or 12 consignees before Christmas.
