PBA celebrates 50th anniversary, honors 10 greatest players

On Friday, April 11, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) celebrated its 50th anniversary with an intimate ceremony at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City.

Ten outstanding individuals were honored and formally inducted into the PBA Greatest Players list, including active players June Mar Fajardo and Scottie Thompson, along with former players Nelson Asaytono, Bong Hawkins, Danny Seigle, and Manny Victorino.

Coaches Jeff Cariaso from Blackwater and Danny Silverio from Toyota also received recognition on behalf of their inducted players, while the family of Arnie Tuadles accepted the award posthumously for him.

Longtime staff members and media personalities covering the PBA were also recognized during the ceremony.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial highlighted the league's enduring popularity and strength as it approaches its golden anniversary, emphasizing a campaign theme of 'PBA Solid' for Season 50.
