Patidongan plans countercharges against Ang

Whistleblower Julie Patidongan announced on Saturday that he plans to file countercharges against businessman Atong Ang, who had previously accused him of attempting to extort P300 million.

Patidongan stated during an interview with DZBB that he would respond to Ang's complaint and also file charges against the businessman on Monday.

Lawyer Lorna Kapunan, who represents Ang, has not yet commented on Patidongan's claims as of this posting.

He previously managed Ang's farms for Pitmasters Group, which was involved in online cockfighting (e-sabong), and is one of six Manila Arena security personnel facing kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges related to the January 2022 disappearance of five sabungeros and their driver.

Patidongan had linked both Ang and actress Gretchen Barretto to the disappearance of 34 sabungeros from 2021 to 2022; however, Ang and Barretto have denied these allegations.

In addition, Patidongan vowed to file a complaint affidavit with the National Police Commission (Napolcom) against police officers allegedly involved in the sabungeros' disappearances.
