PAL: Passenger tested positive in HK despite pre-flight negative result

Philippine Airlines (PAL) confirmed on Wednesday, January 6, that a passenger who tested positive for the new COVID-19 variant in Hong Kong had presented a negative test result before flying from Manila.

The airline said the passenger flew to Hong Kong on December 22 and provided a negative test as required by Hong Kong authorities.

PAL has shared necessary information with the Philippine Bureau of Quarantine for contact tracing efforts and stated that it strictly adheres to health protocols.
