Paolo Duterte elected as House Committee on Accounts chair

Paolo Duterte, son of President Rodrigo Duterte and Davao City representative, was elected as the new chairman of the House Committee on Accounts on Tuesday, October 13.

The election came shortly after Lord Allan Velasco became the new Speaker of the House, following an agreement between Velasco and ousted speaker Alan Peter Cayetano to change the chair of the accounts panel.

Deputy Majority Leader Juan Pablo 'Rimpy' Bondoc moved the nomination without objection, and Paolo Duterte will now oversee the internal budget of the House, which is set at P15.6 billion for 2021.
