Kiko Pangilinan files COC, aims to return to Senate

Former Senator Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan filed his certificate of candidacy on Tuesday, aiming to return to the Senate in the 2025 elections.

Pangilinan was accompanied by his wife, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, during the filing of his COC and met supporters at Quirino Grandstand afterwards.

During his speech, Pangilinan emphasized that hunger knows no political color and urged the public to prioritize reforms over party politics, highlighting the need for more reforms in sectors like agriculture.

Pangilinan is running under the Liberal Party (LP) and said he is following his original plan from 2022 when he ran as a vice-presidential candidate but lost to Sara Duterte.

The senatorial race is tight with Pangilinan facing competition from other opposition candidates, including Paolo Benigno 'Bam' Aquino of the KNP and human rights lawyer Chel Diokno of Akbayan.
