Philippine Airlines flight overshots runway due to rain, operations resume

A Philippine Airlines plane experienced a minor runway excursion upon landing at Bacolod-Silay Airport on Friday, December 27.

The incident involved Flight PR2285 from Cebu which overshot Runway 03 due to heavy rain reducing braking efficiency.

All passengers and crew were reported safe and received immediate assistance from airport personnel; the aircraft is now safely parked at a regular bay in Bacolod airport where operations are running as usual.

As a precautionary measure, Philippine Airlines canceled the return flight PR2286 scheduled for Bacolod to Mactan (Cebu) to allow for runway evaluation.

Affected passengers were notified and provided with rebooking options or alternative travel arrangements by the airline.
