LPA brings rain, thunderstorms over NCR, NE Luzon; heat index up to 42°C

A trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Northern and Central Luzon on Wednesday, according to PAGASA.

Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur are expected to experience the weather phenomenon, potentially leading to flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms, posing a risk for flash floods or landslides during severe storms.

PAGASA warned that Metro Manila is under extreme caution and danger level with a heat index reaching up to 42 degrees Celsius in some areas, advising residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses like heat cramps and exhaustion.

To prevent these health issues, PAGASA recommends limiting outdoor activities, drinking plenty of water, avoiding alcohol or caffeine, wearing protective clothing, and scheduling heavy work for cooler times of the day.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters are forecasted across Northern and Central Luzon.
