Pagasa forecasts rain showers, thunderstorms; flash floods possible

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms prevailing in most parts of the country on Friday.

Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio advised residents to be cautious as flash floods or landslides could occur in low-lying areas during localized thunderstorms.

No weather disturbances are currently being monitored within the Philippine area of responsibility, but rain showers remain possible especially in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Pagasa predicts temperature ranges from 25 to 38 degrees Celsius across key cities, with Metro Manila experiencing up to 35°C.

Between 42 to 44 heat index are forecast in several areas, considered as danger levels where heat cramps and exhaustion are likely. Continued exposure could also cause heat stroke.

Residents are reminded that light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail across the archipelago.
