PAGASA forecasts 'danger level' heat in 9 areas

PAGASA forecasts a 'danger level' heat index in nine areas across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for Friday, April 4.

Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Coron, Palawan; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Virac in Catanduanes; Iloilo City and Dumangas in Iloilo; and Butuan City in Agusan del Norte are expected to reach heat indices of 42°C or higher.

The 'danger level' category includes areas with a heat index between 42°C and 51°C, posing risks such as heat cramps, exhaustion, and stroke.

In Metro Manila, NAIA Pasay City will see a heat index of up to 38°C, while Science Garden in Quezon City could reach 40°C, falling under the 'extreme caution' category with temperatures between 33°C and 41°C.

PAGASA advises the public to limit outdoor activities, remain hydrated, and wear fresh clothes to avoid heat-related illnesses.
