3 weather systems bring rain to parts of Luzon and Mindanao

Three weather systems—the northeast monsoon or 'amihan,' shear line, and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ)—will bring rain to parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Friday, December 13.

Overcast skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected in Quezon and the Bicol Region due to the shear line, while cloudy skies with rains will prevail over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora because of the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and Calabarzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the easterlies, while Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the 'amihan'.

PAGASA warned that strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas are expected over Northern Luzon, making sea travel risky for small seacraft.

Moderate to heavy rains in some areas could result in flash floods or landslides, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
