PAGASA issues thunderstorm alert for Metro Manila and 7 provinces

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a thunderstorm alert for Metro Manila and seven surrounding provinces as of Wednesday afternoon.

Heavy to intense rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, and Metro Manila within the next two hours.

Quezon Province's municipalities such as Catanauan, General Luna, Macalelon, Lopez, Pitogo, Gumaca, Infanta, and Real are currently experiencing moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds that may persist for another two hours.

PAGASA advises residents to take precautionary measures against potential flash floods and landslides due to these weather conditions.

The advisory emphasizes the need for caution and preparedness to mitigate the impacts of severe thunderstorms in affected areas.
