Philippines braces for rain due to ITCZ and easterlies

Most areas in the Philippines are expected to experience rain on Wednesday due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and easterlies, according to PAGASA.

Palawan will see scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the ITCZ, while Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

Mindanao will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, while the rest of the country can expect isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected across the archipelago.

A low pressure area (LPA) located 1,180 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
