PAGASA: Inday weakens but may bring gusty winds over North Luzon

State weather bureau PAGASA said on Monday that Typhoon Inday has further weakened but may still bring gusty winds and rough seas in northern Luzon.

As of 11 a.m., Inday was located at 465 km north northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, moving slowly towards Ishigaki island in southern Japan with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph and gustiness up to 185 kph.

PAGASA forecast gusty conditions reaching strong to gale-force winds over extreme Northern Luzon until Wednesday due to the channeling of the typhoon circulation in the Luzon Strait, but heavy rains across the country are unlikely.

Fair weather with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will prevail across the Philippines on Monday.
