Pagasa warns of rain showers, strong winds in parts of PH

Rain showers are expected in parts of the Philippines on Friday and Saturday due to three weather systems, according to Pagasa.

The northeast monsoon will continue to affect Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera region, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Southern Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with rains.

A shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Visayas, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, and Dinagat Islands, particularly Eastern Visayas where moderate to heavy rainfall is expected.

Pagasa is monitoring a new low-pressure area (LPA) off Mindanao that may develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 to 48 hours. Its trough will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Strong winds and rough seas are expected in the eastern section of Catanduanes due to wave heights reaching up to 3.4 to 4.5 meters on Saturday.
