PAGASA warns heavy rainfall, flash floods in parts of Luzon, Eastern Visayas

PAGASA issued a heavy rainfall warning for several parts of Luzon and Eastern Visayas due to the convergence of the northeast monsoon and easterlies from the Pacific.

Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and other regions will experience scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms through Thursday noon, December 26.

PAGASA forecasts heavy to intense rainfall in Aurora, Quezon, Isabela, Cagayan, Apayao, Camarines Norte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental from Thursday to Saturday due to the shear line and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Isabela will continue to experience heavy to intense rains from Friday noon to Saturday noon.

The northeast monsoon may bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region, while the easterlies will cast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in other regions.

PAGASA warned residents against possible rain-induced flash floods or landslides in low-lying areas and advised caution due to rough coastal conditions along northern Luzon and eastern sections of central and southern Luzon.
