Vice Pres Robredo probed for COVID-19 relief efforts

Vice President Leni Robredo's office has been providing relief for frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic, including PPE donations, food distribution, shuttle services, and dormitories.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) launched a fund drive on March 13 to purchase PPE sets for health workers, raising over P42.5 million by April 1.

Robredo's office also provided free shuttle service for health workers starting March 18, with routes increasing from six to eight as of April 1.

The OVP opened four dormitories for health workers in Quezon City and Manila, and donated extraction kits worth P5.3 million to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine on March 20.

Despite these efforts, Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Manuelito Luna urged the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe Robredo over her office's relief efforts, claiming they compete with or undermine national government initiatives.
