OWWA stops aid for Hong Kong, Macau-bound OFWs

The Overseas Workers' Welfare Administration (OWWA) has ceased providing PHP10,000 cash relief assistance to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) bound for Hong Kong and Macau due to the lifting of travel bans.

However, OWWA continues to provide financial aid to OFWs affected by the ongoing travel ban to China.

As of February 19, OWWA has released PHP80.6 million in cash assistance to 8,060 stranded OFWs from Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, and China since the start of the coronavirus outbreak.
