DOLE warns OFWs to take precautions against nCoV

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued an advisory warning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to take precautions against the novel coronavirus (nCoV) spreading outside China.

DOLE advises OFWs to avoid crowded places, practice hand-washing, and follow WHO guidelines on avoiding contact with sick individuals and animals.

The DOLE also instructed OFWs to report suspected cases of nCoV to hospitals and Philippine Overseas Labor Offices for assistance.

OWWA is coordinating with the DFA to monitor conditions of OFWs in China, particularly those in Hubei province and Wuhan City, where no confirmed case of contamination among OFWs has been reported.
