DOH reports 642 new COVID-19 variant cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 642 new cases of coronavirus variants in the Philippines, including 266 UK (B.1.1.7), 351 South Africa (B.1.351), and 25 Philippine (P.3) variants.

Of these, 266 B.1.1.7 cases include 188 local infections and 11 returning Filipinos from abroad, while the total number of active UK variant cases is now at 54.

The South Africa variant has a total of 609 cases with 351 new ones detected, making the total active cases 54.
