Over 1K teens vaccinated on first day of pediatric program

More than 1,000 children aged 12 to 17 were vaccinated on the first day of the pilot pediatric vaccination program in Metro Manila.

The government began the rollout at eight hospitals across Metro Manila using Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III emphasized the importance of protecting both children and their loved ones through vaccination.

Consent from parents or guardians is required before minors can receive the vaccine, which has been approved for emergency use by the FDA.

The initial rollout will be expanded to other provinces within October.
